How You Can Help
GetInvolved
We are a small charity that manages the wood for its enjoyment by the community.
So far we have mainly relied on the original bequest made by David Hood in 2002 to pay for its creation and upkeep. If you would like to donate a sum, no matter how small, to support the woodland please do so by clicking the donate button below.
We have an annual work day where we maintain the various structures and clear areas. Past work day projects have included creating the willow dome, making a bug hotel and refilling the chalk in the labyrinth and question mark. We will email the date to everyone on our mailing list (sign up in the footer).
There are always jobs and work to be done. If you would like to volunteer any skill we would love to hear from you.
Please do come along and support any event we hold. We have organised dawn chorus walks, bat evenings in previous years. Again these events are emailed out via the mailing list.
If you have any ideas for projects, trails, events, surveys we would be very happy to hear them.
The wood is continually evolving with its flora and fauna, please let us know what you spot and see by getting in touch. We will publish these visitors observations on a yearly basis.
